Our client is SA's biggest online retailer and they are looking for an Email Marketing Manager to join their growing team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing all email campaigns
Newsletter strategy and Performance. You will be responsible for managing and reporting on the following key metrics to the business: List sizes, open rates, CTRs, Visits, CRs and revenue. In addition, you will provide ongoing feedback to the retail team on the success of their department newsletters and ensure key learnings are documented and carried forward
Sending out newsletters to their database on a daily basis. You will ensure all of their emails are sent out timeously and successfully. This will require work outside of standard business hours and will be managed accordingly
Briefing newsletters. With the aid of the Assistant Email Marketer, you will be responsible for conceptualising, creating and maintaining the design briefs
Optimising newsletters. This includes ensuring newsletters are optimised to render and link appropriately across different browsers and devices, a/b testing, subject lines, newsletter layouts etc. to drive up our key metrics. Analysis of current email marketing campaigns and making recommendations for improvements
Build upon and optimise email tools to ensure a stable and scalable platform which is capable of driving subscriber acquisition and also facilitating precise audience targeting through behaviour based segmentation
Managing trigger email campaigns throughout the customer lifecycle to maximise sales
Carrying out segmentation of the database and implementing remarketing strategies
Growing the size of their newsletter lists through lead generation campaigns, working collaboratively with the CRM and Retail marketing manager and optimising our onsite sign up process
Management and operational reports on sales revenues and performance generated through email marketing campaigns
Ensuring all email campaigns comply with current email best practice in the industry
Working closely with the Customer insight and CRM Manager to execute the CRM strategy

Attributes required:


Excellent written communication and copywriting skills
An inquisitive mind with a passion for data - be highly analytical, using data to inform decisions
A strong working knowledge of Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel is required
Tech Savvy - have a passion for technology and how to use technological solutions to improve performance
Creative mindset - be able to craft numerous campaigns across many departments
Solutions-oriented - have a can-do attitude and high energy
Highly organised and efficient, with an ability to work towards and meet tight deadlines
A grounding in marketing and communication principles
Capability to present ideas succinctly in writing and verbally
Versatile and with the appetite to learn by doing
Experience with high-volume, fast-paced performance email campaigns (preferably in ecommerce)
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities
eCommerce marketing experience
Exceptional eye for detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical skills
Strong organisational skills
Adobe Photoshop experience preferred
Previous experience with enterprise level email automation tools (Salesforce, Exact Target, Hubspot, etc.)
SQL Skills (advantageous)
HTML Skills (advantageous)
Bi-Lingual (advantageous)
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3+ years working in Email marketing, CRM and/or related digital marketing roles
Bachelor's Degree in Business and/or Marketing or related field
Previous experience as an email marketing manager ideally within a similar industry
